Awarded for completing Guardrails Rather Than Gates: Defaults That Do the Work and passing its exam, demonstrating the ability to decide whether a given risk belongs in a default or a check; to choose the implementation layer on reach, decay, blast radius and cost to change; to design library, module and platform defaults that are safe when a developer does nothing; to build an override path that is self service, attributed, visible and expiring, and to read the resulting records as feedback; to measure coverage, firing rate, counterfactual evidence and classified leakage for a preventive control; to migrate an existing estate onto a new default without a freeze and to close out the residue honestly; and to recognise accumulation early and retire a default, and the gate it replaced, with a written case.
Certificates are designed to be checked, not just displayed.
The credential is valid for 12 months from issue. Its public page states the expiry date, and renewing means passing the current exam again — so the credential always reflects the current material.
